Christos Anesti Nea Parea!
Holy Thursday: The first of the twelve gospels: “But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you” Jesus is talking to the apostles about His crucifixion and informing them about what’s to happen. They are scared, confused, and filled with sorrow. Jesus is intentionally leaving them knowing that they are all going to struggle - Jesus included. In this verse however, Je

Holy Week Reflection <3
Holy Week is a very beautiful time of year. Every service this week remembers the events that lead to Christ's crucifixion and His glorious resurrection. But this year the Nea Parea community came together in collecting gifts for Saint Basil Academy - a residential institution for children and families located in in Garrison New York and operated by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America. There is something especially meaningful about giving in the name of Saint Basil. While many associate

Καλώς ήρθατε UGA!
Christougenna Brunch was especially lively this year as sharing the weekend with UGA! Greeks from across the country gathered with Nea for Sunday Brunch - it was incredible We were grateful to welcome UGA founder Deano Kastis, whose kindness and encouragement toward Nea meant a great deal to our community. I’ve known Deano for close to five years, and his passion for these events has never faded, nor has his commitment wavered - he’s genuinely in love with what he does, an
