Καλώς ήρθατε UGA!

Updated: Apr 24

Christougenna Brunch was especially lively this year as sharing the weekend with UGA! Greeks from across the country gathered with Nea for Sunday Brunch - it was incredible

We were grateful to welcome UGA founder Deano Kastis, whose kindness and encouragement toward Nea meant a great deal to our community. I’ve known Deano for close to five years, and his passion for these events has never faded, nor has his commitment wavered - he’s genuinely in love with what he does, and you can feel it in the way he brings people together. His joy in seeing what this community is building reminded us just how connected these efforts are-

United Greek Americans has meant a lot to many in the diaspora. For many of us (myself included), it was where the spark was first lit - the spark that pushed us to take part more in what it means to be Greek outside of the patrida.

I believe that same spark is alive in the Nea community - and seeing those paths cross this weekend was a great little reminder that ελληνισμός in the diaspora isn’t something necessarily inheritable - but rather something kept alive by coming together again & again

I reccomend checking out their events, I've linked their instagram page here!
